Kostas N. Tarchanidis received his first degree in Electrical Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace. He received his Ph.D. in robotics from the University of Liverpol, Dept. of Electrical Engineering and Electronics. He is presently Full Professor at Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology, Dept. of Petroleum & Natural Gas Technology and Mechanical Engineering, Kavala, Greece. He is Deputy President of the Institute’s University Council. His is member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, I.E.E.E. and SPE. He is also the supervisor of the project called “Robotic Lifeguard For Emergency Rescue”. |
John N. Lygouras was born in Kozani, Greece. He received the Diploma degree and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Greece in 1982 and 1990, respectively, both with honors. From 1982 he was a research assistant and since 2012 he is a Professor at the Democritus University of Thrace, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. In 1997 he spent six months at the University of Liverpool, Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics as a Honorary Senior Research Fellow. His research interests are in the field of analog and digital electronic systems design and implementation, using FPGA, DSP and microcontrollers. His research interests also include the robotic manipulators trajectory planning and execution and position control of underwater remotely operated vehicles (UROVs) and aerial unmanned vehicles (AUVs). |
Eleftherios J. Lygouras was born in Xanthi, Greece in 1986. He received his first degree (Diploma) in Department of Production and Management Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace in 2014 and the MSc in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace in 2016, in the field: “Energy Systems Technologies and Renewable Energy Sources” with specialization in “Electric Machines”. He is now a PhD candidate in the Department of Production and Management Engineering of Democritus University of Thrace in the field of Robotics Systems. His research interests are in the field of Robotics Systems and aerial unmanned vehicles (AUVs). |
